In re Jeffrey B. Clark, Board Docket No. 22-BD-039

Former Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division of the United States Department of Justice Jeffrey B. Clark has been charged with misconduct.  He faces disciplinary trial before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Board on Professional Responsibility. Disciplinary Docket No. 2021-D193

Clark, while serving as Acting Deputy Attorney General of the United States, sought to advance on false grounds then-President Donald J. Trump's scheme to falsely alter the outcome of the 221 Presidential election in the State of Georgia.

According to the specification of charges, Clark, while serving as a high official in the U.S. Department of Justice " violated the following District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct: a. Rules 8.4(a) and (c), in that Respondent attempted to engage in conduct involving dishonesty, by sending the Proof of Concept letter containing  false statements; and b. Rules 8.4(a) and (d), in that Respondent attempted to engage in conduct that would seriously interfere with the administration of justice."
