Richard Painter and Norman Eisen write to alert us to the dangers still faced by the Mueller investigation. We have seen the Fox News alarums, the GOP Congressional drum beat (investigating the FBI!), A.G. Sessions wobby non-denials, etc.
The principal threats are Curbing Mueller -e.g. by starving the Special Counsel of funding; Issuing Pardons - which would leave it to State A.G.'s to prosecute: but without the enormous database Mueller has developed; Smearing (Murdoch's State Media and M.C.s are already at it); and, of course, the nuclear option: Fire Meuller. - gwc
