Phyllis Schlafly, Conservative Leader and Foe of E.R.A., Dies at 92 - The New York Times
"The evil that men do lives after them. The good is interred with their bones." William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar (1599)
Phyllis Schlafly, enemy of women rights, was herself a powerful activist - on the wrong side of every progressive issue. One of her more lunatic moments was forgotten tract in which she claimed that the Soviet Union's earth satellites carried nuclear weapons ready to rain down on us. But it is here leadership in the campaign against the equal rights amendment which will live longest after her.
