Robert Dahl Understood Our Democracy - Bloomberg

Robert Dahl has died. Like James Madison (the actual one, not the mythical "originalist" Federalist Society version) Dahl understood that politics was about interest group bargaining.  That resource transfer is at its heart. And that democracy means getting your oar in.  Jonathan Bernstein gets it - as usual.

Robert Dahl Understood Our Democracy - Bloomberg:
by Jonathan Bernstein
Dahl taught us, perhaps more than any other modern thinker, to understand democracy as a complex and contested process – not as a simple question of whether elections are held in which majorities win and rule, but as a combination of elections, governing processes and social conditions.
