Sen. Richard Durbin on Medical Malpractice Reform at the Healthcare Summit

  1. Medical malpractice often take place in situations that doctors acting carelessly and assigning deleterious prescription to the patient even in the patient's chart, it clearly prohibits it. For example, the doctors who mistakenly write down the amount of insulin to be given to the patient who has diabetes, if proven, can be culpable of receiving medical malpractice claim. Medical or clinical negligence is a complex and highly specialised area of the law as it involves the issue of professional negligence and has legal principles and rules of procedure which differ from those covering other personal injury claims.
